The Perfect Finish For Artwork

Float frame with Blank Canvas

White Float frame with blank canvas
Masterart Floater Frames have been designed to pair up perfectly with our Masterart Professional Grade and Exhibition grade stretched canvases. While we are well known as a specialist manufacturer of high end artists canvases specifically supplying to professional artists directly from our factory in rural Tauranga, we have for some time been a 'low key' producer of float frames utilising materials imported by others in the picture framing market. However, after significant (and unsubstantiated) increases in the price of imported floater frame molding we embarked on a program to produce our own molding here in New Zealand from sustainable radiata pine late in 2024. This molding is now available to us and we have been perfecting our processess in assembling and coating.
All of our floater frames are cut to accomodate a 5mm gap between your canvas and the inside edge of the frame. This means that a floater fame will be 30 mm larger than the canvas (or wooden painting panel). This gap ensures that the canvas looks as though it is floating on the wall. The blank canvas is simply removed from the Masterart Floater Frame by unscrewing the screws holding the canvas in to place, you then complete your masterpiece and put any finishing touches to your floater frame (if necessary), "re-mount" the canvas in the frame, attach the supplied D rings and hang the painting.
Finishing We have decided to produce all of our Masterart Floater Frames in the moldings natural raw timber form (i.e. we do not apply any coatings to the frame molding until it has been formed into a completed frame) This enables us to remedy any irregularities and produce a product that is as close to perfect as we can get it. Only then do we apply any coatings and finishes that you request.
As an alternative, we will supply you a formed floater frame in its raw/natural state at a lower price and you can apply any finishes/coatings that you desire.
Sizes Masterart can produce a floater frame for any canvas up to 3600. Typically however, we would not recommend using our standard Professional (30 mm deep) stretcher bars for a canvas that large (Our SE45 stretcher is better suited for use in large format canvases).
